NEW MEMBERS AT THE EUROPEAN COURT OF AUDITORS

FORMAL SITTING ON 30 JANUARY 2002

The Council of the European Union, acting unanimously after having consulted the European Parliament, nominated in a decision of 8 November 2001, the following five new Members of the European Court of Auditors, with effect from 1 January 2002: Mr Lars Tobisson (Sweden), Mrs Hedda von Wedel (Germany), Mr David Bostock (United Kingdom), Mr Morten Louis Levysohn (Denmark) and Mr Ioannis Sarmas (Greece).

The Court of Justice held a formal sitting, in which those new Members of the European Court of Auditors gave a solemn undertaking in accordance with the Treaties.
